Cindy received a BEd in Elementary Education from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, with a minor in Biology and a Kindergarten Endorsement. She also received an MS in Reading and ESL from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX. She is a certified reading specialist and librarian for grades PK-12.

Cindy taught for 19 years in Texas school districts (Ft. Worth, Beaumont, Garland, and Abilene), with experience in almost all subjects, K-8. She served as a secondary ELA instructional support specialist for 8 years in Garland and Director of ELA for 3 years in Abilene. She also spent one year as a middle school librarian in Abilene, TX.

In addition to her work in the classroom and at the administrative level, Cindy has provided workshops, staff development presentations, and consulting services to local, state, and national organizations since 1988.

Cindy has been working with curriculum, instruction, and assessment since 1987. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to ELA Connections.

Cindy was born and raised in Kingsland, a resort/retirement area in the Texas Hill Country. She resides in Abilene, TX, with her husband, Ron. She loves to drink hot tea, cook, quilt, sew, crochet, garden, read, write, relax in the mountains, and fly airplanes with her husband. 
Bailey, a National Merit Finalist, graduated 3rd in her class from Garland High School in Garland, TX, with a full International Baccalaureate diploma. She completed a BA in English from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, with minors in Mathematics and Physics. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Technical Communication and Rhetoric at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, where she received her MA in the same program in 2017.

Bailey has provided a variety of editing and proofreading services since 2005, including a six-month internship at the Texas A&M University Press in College Station. Bailey currently teaches introductory technical writing at Texas Tech University.

Bailey has worked as a school district enrollment specialist, a math and science tutor, a college math grader, a physics lab assistant, a university interlibrary loan coordinator, and a consulting content specialist. Though a newcomer to the world of curriculum and instruction, Bailey brings a diverse background, a youthful outlook, and an eye for design to ELA Connections.

Bailey was born and raised in Rowlett, TX, a suburb east of Dallas. She resides in Lubbock, TX, with her husband, Chris. She loves to read, write, edit, cook and bake, play games, hike, practice martial arts, volunteer at local farms, play stringed instruments, and hang out by the lake.
